Do it Afraid
This morning, as I sip my coffee and scroll through my school’s website, it hits me—this is really happening. I’m officially working toward my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
High School was never easy for me. I went to high school back in the '90s and graduated in 2001, but I struggled. College didn’t even feel like an option back then. Still, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher—it just seemed out of reach.
That changed a few years ago when I met my husband. He believed in me, encouraged me to apply, and to my surprise—I got in. Now I’m in my fourth semester and thriving.
It’s not without challenges. Learning in your 40s is definitely different than in your 20s! But I’ve gained maturity and wisdom over the years, and that’s made me value the learning process so much more. I’m proud of how far I’ve come—and excited for what’s ahead.
I share my story to encourage you today: it’s never too late, and you’re never too far from reaching your dreams.
Take that first step—apply for school, go for that job, write the book, move to the place calling your name, start that hobby you've been putting off. Whatever it is that feels just out of reach—do it anyway. Do it even if you're scared.
Courage doesn’t mean you’re not afraid; it means you move forward despite the fear. Your future is waiting—go after it.
